Some time ago we come up with information that proves that iPhone 4S running the latest iOS 5.0.1 has been jailbroken by iPhone Dev Team Lead by pod2g and their fellow iOS hackers from Chronic Dev team and now they have video to show to public with real proof that they have found untethered jailbreak for A5 devices that includes jailbreak for iPhone 4S and iPad 2. For far they have demoed only jailbreak for iPhone 4S that you can see on video bellow.
The video that you see above was shot by Dustin Howett, an iOS developer and respectable member of the Chronic Dev Team. As you can see, he demonstrates a complete, untethered jailbreak on iPhone 4S running the latest iOS 5.0.1.
We still don’t have any info about exact release date, but pod2g says: “Only a few to wait now”, so you can interpret this in many ways but one is clear that there will be a jailbreak for iPhone 4S and iPad 2 sometime soon and we will be the first to share this information with our readers.
Pod2g, the user who is responsible for tethered and untethered iOS 5 hack began his research on A5 devices late last year and already has made huge progress in this area by showing untethered jailbreak for iPhone 4S also he found the way around the iPod Touch’s running iOS 5.0.1. Next to come is jailbreak for Apple TV. The only problem was that iPhone 4S “caching issue” and he couldn’t find the way around it till now.
While the rest of iDevices running A4 processor now enjoying and untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1, iPhone 4S and iPad 2 owner still left behind due to complex security introduced with A5 processor. Pod2g and both iPhone Dev Team and Chronic Dev team have done great work to find a way around Apple’s security and we believe that jailbreak for iPhone 4S and iPad running the latest iOS 5.0.1 will be released by the one of this month.
Estimated Release Date
This doesn’t give any accurate idea when jailbreak for iPhone 4S will be released but now we know that its possible and it should be available soon. Recently some other iPhone hack developers demoed tethered jailbreak for iPhone 4S but now the developers have got closer to untethered version which we all want so much. Untethered jailbreak means that you don’t need to do anything once your iPhone is jailbroken while on the other hand, with tethered jailbreak, you must boot your device from computer each time you want to turn it off to remain it jailbroken.
We will follow all the new regarding jailbreak development so make sure you have subscribed to our Facebook, Google+ or Twitter.
